With all these fast cars running around during September – in the\u00a0Hot Rod Roundup & Fall Rod Run<\/a>\u00a0–\u00a0surely we can put some of them to good use?<\/p>\n

How about some good old fashioned bootlegging<\/strong>? Later in the month the month the action moves from Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg with the 1st Annual Fast Cars & Mason Jars Moonshine Festival, on the weekend of September 27-28.<\/p>\n

The festival happens at Ole Smoky Distillery, located at Traffic Light # 8 on Parkway in Gatlinburg. The distillery famously produces Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, a legal ‘shine you don’t have to conceal from the revenuers in the trunk of your souped-up stock car!<\/p>\n

During this brand new 2-day FREE festival you can get a feel for (and a TASTE of) the bootlegging days of old and our nation’s great sport of stock car racing, inspired by bootleggers evading federal agents. Celebrating Appalachian heritage, there’s a music concert Friday night, and Saturday night promises stories and histories from real moonshiners.<\/p>\n

Daytime features lots to look at and participate in, including an early morning “Moonshine Run” through Gatlinburg and a more sedate “Moonshine Crawl” of Gatlinburg bars and restaurants, as well as awards for the best moonshine cars.<\/p>\n

Had enough of fast cars yet? Of course not! So if you’re still in the mood for serous muscle, take a spin out to Sevierville and visit one of the largest and best collections in the world of American cars from the golden era of muscle cars, Floyd Garrett’s Muscle Car Museum<\/a>.<\/p>\n
