Take a free ride! On June 13th, Gatlinburg started its immensely popular summer program again offering Free Trolley Service up and down the length of Parkway. The free service will last through August 16. <\/span><\/p>\n

This is the “yes, there IS a free lunch” deal that everyone should, um, get on board with, and use the trolley to explore every attraction on Parkway. Now there’s no excuse not to shop!<\/p>\n

The free trolleys are open-air (so bring your camera!), and painted distinctively with FREE in large lettering. They’ll be running from 10 am to 10 pm every day, with more than 40 stops on Parkway for you and the family to hop on and hop off. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you feel like going further than Gatlinburg of course there are still the regular trolleys serving over 50 miles of roadway with over 100 stops, including Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, and part of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. <\/span><\/p>\n

The trolley system is a marvel of the area, almost a quaint and old-timey way to travel, yet also ultra modern and high tech. And very affordable – the cost to ride in the climate-controlled, wheelchair-accessible trolleys ranges from 50 cents (exact change please) up to two dollars or so for an all-day pass. <\/span><\/p>\n

Who needs to drive? Park the car at one of the large, free lots and jump on the trolley for your day out in Gatlinburg. <\/span><\/p>\n
