Halloween is a fun time of year in the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area, with beautiful Fall temperatures and a taste of even more holidays coming. This year is no exception, with local events breaking out all over and offering costume contests, live entertainment, and of course lots of candy for the kids.<\/p>\n

Not content with scaring everybody witless all October with Fright Nights at Ripley’s Haunted Adventure<\/a>, Gatlinburg\u00a0is now gearing up for its huge, family-friendly Trick Or Treat Kickoff Carnival<\/strong>\u00a0on Wednesday, October 31st, Halloween day itself.<\/p>\n

The 5th annual kickoff event will be from noon to 5 p.m. at Ripley\u2019s Aquarium Plaza in downtown Gatlinburg at Light #5. Over a thousand kids showed last year for this very popular and ever-expanding event, so if you want to see some cute costumes and have some family fun, this is the place.<\/p>\n

There will be contests for best costumes, a bounce house, games and prizes, food, and lots of candy handed out by characters such as Shrimp Louie and Zeno the Bear. This is non-scary and safe – your kids will love it and you’ll have lots of fun too.<\/p>\n

As the afternoon activities come to an end, around 6 pm along the Parkway local businesses will be handing out candy and gifts for a trick-or-treat bonanza throughout downtown. People really make this a big event with decorations, costumes and treats so be prepared for an evening of fun as well.<\/p>\n
