2013 is just a few days away, so make your plans to join the street party Monday night around the base of the Space Needle in Gatlinburg. It’s the region’s unsurpassed celebration to welcome the New Year, the 25th Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show.<\/p>\n

There’s a countdown in progress at the Space Needle web page<\/a> as the big moment approaches for the lighted ball drop at the stroke of midnight, and the launch of a music-synced\u00a0pyrotechnics show that WILL leave you gasping!<\/p>\n

Usually the 342-foot steel observation tower is applauded for the panoramic bird’s-eye view it offers of Gatlinburg and the mountains all around. But for New Year’s Eve all eyes turn to the Space Needle itself as the star attraction, glowing red and ablaze with fireworks and dazzle.<\/p>\n

The pyrotechnic show is presented by Tennessee’s own Pyro Shows<\/a>, internationally renowned for its fireworks wizardry.<\/p>\n

Gatlinburg loves to celebrate New Year’s Eve, and festivities will abound at many of the town’s restaurants and other attractions, and definitely in the vicinity of the Space Needle. Start here or make your way as the evening wears on to the Space Needle area at traffic light #8 and join the party.<\/p>\n

Enjoy live musical entertainment from the balcony of the Convention Center across Historic Nature Trail, and party favors from Mr. Tablecloth around the Space Needle base.<\/p>\n

The event is FREE, and will draw a big crowd of locals and visitors who come especially to join this acclaimed celebration of the New Year.<\/p>\n
