The Townsend Spring Festival is Friday and Saturday, May 3-4, 2019, and features all day and nighttime Bluegrass performances from dozens of musicians and bands. There’s also lots of food, arts & crafts, kid’s activities and other festivities! A parking pass for $10-20 is all it takes to join in the fun – bring your lawn chairs.<\/p>\n

Be there by noon on Friday or you start to miss the music! The event is on the Quiet Side of the Smoky Mountains<\/a>, held at Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center – filled with the heritage of the region, and people to share it with you.<\/p>\n

As well as the live music – both in concerts and jam sessions! – there’s also the Tennessee Pottery Festival, it’s Railroad Days at the railroad museum and Old Timers Day in Cades Cove, as well as Appalachian skills demonstrations, storytelling and wildflower walks.<\/p>\n

Townsend host a number of artists and musicians who prefer life a little out of the bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but equally deeply in the mountains. It’s close to the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Cades Cove, and the few miles drive from either town is gloriously scenic.<\/p>\n

We have cabins in Wears Valley<\/a> as well as Gatlinburg cabins<\/a> and Pigeon Forge cabin rentals<\/a> – so if you develop a taste for this western end of the area, never fear, we have a place for you to stay!<\/p>\n
