The first thing you\u2019ll notice about Delauder\u2019s is the sheer variety of barbecue styles they serve. As the restaurant\u2019s founder and owner, Denny Delauder has one main goal: to \u201cfeed people like you are family.\u201d To that end, he makes all his barbecue fresh each morning, so you can experience it at its best. This is why the restaurant only opens in the afternoon, and closes each day as soon as the barbecue has sold out. Denny and his team need the mornings to slowly roast this delicious meat, and refuse to serve any that wasn\u2019t cooked that day. He wouldn\u2019t serve leftover meat to his family; why should you be treated any differently?<\/p>\n

Delauder\u2019s has consistently earned glowing reviews not only from locals, but also from visitors hailing from all over the country. Delauder’s used to be hard to find, hidden behind shops along the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community Trail<\/a> – which was a great stop for refueling in a day’s worth of shopping. But note that it moved, and is located about 4 miles out on East Parkway (Hwy 321) that splits off from Parkway at Traffic Light #3 in Gatlinburg. The operation has taken over a former gas station, so there’s plenty of parking off the highway. The new address is 1875 East Pkwy, Gatlinburg, TN 37738<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Delauder’s is small, family run, and its hours of operation vary by day, but generally last from lunchtime until around 7 pm. Make sure to get there early or call ahead, because if they run out of meat they\u2019ve cooked that day, they won’t serve anything that’s old!<\/p>\n
