The ISI Team Competition happens this weekend at the Ober Gatlinburg Ice Rink, September 22-23. Skaters in several age groups from across the Southeast will participate and show their figure-skating moves. Admission for spectators is free.

Ober Gatlinburg is more than a ski resort, it has year-round fun activities. One of these is ice-skating in the resort’s huge indoor ice arena (especially fun in the middle of the summer heat). It’s a fun place to be, and the competition will show off some thrilling skating.

Two young sisters from Pigeon Forge will be appearing again this year, Holly and Gracie Glynn, fresh from victory in Alabama last month, where they won medals and a trophy for their performances in that ISI Team Competition – full details at Ober Gatlinburg’s news page.

About Carrie Waxler

Carrie Waxler

I've worked for Gatlinburg Falls since March 2011. Lived in TN since 1996. I have now hiked Mt. LeConte three times. I've been on every trail that leads to the top. The last one we hiked up the Boulevard. I have walked my first 2.7 miles on the Appalachian Trail. Only 2176 miles to go. I plan to hike the Appalachian Trail when my children graduate. I also love lake kayaking on Cherokee Lake and Douglas Lake. We take our kayaks camping to middle Tennessee as well for river kayaking. I love talking to guests from the places I've visited or lived. Brings back many good memories. I love to be where people are having fun.
