The 5th Annual Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival is on again now in Gatlinburg, TN, August 24-28, 2016. This event continues each year to gain in popularity, and fills the town with live music and the unique opportunity to meet the writers of the hit songs, to engage in workshops and co-authoring, and to hear the stories behind the legends, from the people on the inside of the music industry.

Cabins of the Smoky Mountains is proud to be a sponsor of this great event, and we’ve been covering it from its beginning. Knowing the background to a song and something about the songwriter opens up a world of appreciation that you may never have experienced before, and one that stays with you, ever after.

2015 Christmas Bluegrass Festival in Pigeon Forge

If you agree that bluegrass is the sweetest music ever invented, then you need to be in Pigeon Forge over the next few days.The 2015 Christmas in the Smokies Bluegrass Festival is happening at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, December 9-12. Tickets available at the door.

Headlined again by the driving force behind the festival, acclaimed musician – and 2015 Female Traditional Vocalist of the Year – Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road, her hugely talented band, the festival presents a hard driving, high-energy experience with a host of notable  performers.

16th Annual Dumplin Valley Bluegrass Festival 2015

The 2015, 16th Annual Dumplin Valley Bluegrass Festival starts Thursday for 3 days, September 17-19. This festival is one of the nicest you’ll ever attend, with a crowd of around 3,000, highly acclaimed talent performing, and a camper village that adds to some amazing jamming between shows.

Free Live Music in Gatlinburg at the 2015 Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival

There’s lots of free live music happening in Gatlinburg as the 2015 Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival returns for its 4th year running Wed-Sun, August 19-23. This is a unique music event in the Southeast, lots of music as well as a chance to meet and learn from insiders in the music industry and experience a personal connection with hit songwriters.

This weekend there’s a stupendous Barbeque and Bluegrass festival in Sevierville AND it’s Half-Price on all our remaining Cabins. Next weekend marks the start of another massive Barbeque & Bluegrass festival, at Dollywood, AND it’s Half-Price cabins again!

Coincidence? Well, maybe, truth be told – but it works out perfectly for last-minute visitors coming in for either of these two great parties!

15th Annual Dumplin Valley Bluegrass Festival 2014

Tennessee’s best kept secret may be the annual 3-day, Dumplin Valley Bluegrass Festival happening this weekend at Dumplin Farm, an easy 25-mile drive north of Gatlinburg on the edge of town in Kodak. The festival features more than a dozen highly acclaimed, top performers this Thursday through Saturday, September 18-20, 2014.

Bluegrass at the Holler: Ole Smoky Moonshine Presents the Soggy Bottom Boys & Dr. Ralph Stanley
