Tekoa

Tekoa Resort is located to the east of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, roughly an equal distance of about 6 miles from each town. The resort is in forested country, so cabins are in wooded settings, but with great views of the mountains. The private 40-acre resort has only a few cabins, which makes for a sense of spaciousness and tranquility to come home to after a day's excursion in the countless attractions of the Smoky Mountains.

Tekoa Resort

Tekoa…Where Luxury Meets the Mountains.

Roads in the resort and the surrounding area are paved, and parking is ample at the cabins. The location affords good access to both towns and the national park, frequently using some of the less traveled minor roads - have a map to see where you are and how to get where you’re going, and remember that GPS in the mountains may not work well.

TIP: plan your itineraries using the many guides and feature pages in our Things To Do visitor resource.

Heading to Pigeon Forge from Tekoa, you can choose to pass by Dollywood, or detour off to Parrot Mountain. Kids will love either choice. Alternately, you can angle south to Gatlinburg and come in on East Parkway. Each destination is easily within 15 minutes, along scenic mountain roads.

From Gatlinburg you can head into Great Smoky Mountains National Park directly from Parkway, and head over to the west to Cades Cove along Little River Road for some great scenery and many natural attractions along the way.

From Pigeon Forge you can take an equally scenic drive to Wears Valley and on to Townsend, which is a little town worth exploring, before dipping south to Cades Cove.

If you're less interested in the places to the west of your Tekoa cabin, you can explore the less visited eastern end of the national park, which offers gorgeous scenery, beautiful walks and picnic areas, and a less crowded experience. Aim for Cosby as the target point for your eastern adventures.

Mountain roads always reward careful driving, and wildlife is everywhere here, so it pays to be attentive - and to take a camera everywhere you go. Despite the many visitors to the Smokies each year, a cabin in Tekoa Resort makes it possible to take roads less traveled and to feel surrounded by trees and mountains for your whole trip.
