About Tony Perez

I'm a people person, and I enjoy the atmosphere that working with Cabins Of The Smoky Mountains entails, interacting with different types of people and trying to relate to each one uniquely. From Michigan originally, I've been coming to the Smoky Mountains since I was a child, with family in Wears Valley. Summer fun for me is exploring the Cades Cove area, swimming in the creeks, and hiking Mount LeConte and many other trails. I love the Smoky Mountains.

Scottish Festival and Games 2022

The 2022 Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games happens all day Saturday and Sunday,  May 21-22, in Townsend, TN, just a few scenic miles drive to the west of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. In a great location set against the foothills of the mountains, and right next to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, it’s an explosion of Scottish culture and fun, and a unique annual festival.

The Games are one of the oldest Scottish Festivals in the country, and it’s an excellent occasion to get a taste of all things Scottish, with some rocking Celtic live music, formal Pipes & Drums, clan histories, Scottish dance, athletic contests from the Highland Games, as well as sheepdog performances, a dog show, and many kid-friendly activities, with face painting of course. Oh, and many opportunities to taste and explore the  famous Scotch whiskies of that remarkable nation.

Great Places to View the Fall Colors in the Smokies

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is famous for its changing leaf colors during fall. Here are some of our favorite places in the area to view the stunning color displays.

The color season lasts about 6-7 weeks, from mid-September through October and into early November, with leaves turning first at the mountain tops and working their way down slope over the weeks – see our guide to Fall Colors in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You can experience fall colors in different ways and at different times in the season along the park’s numerous hikes, viewpoints, and scenic drives.
